Hannah Langlois has been nominated for the Teacher of the Year award

‘THIS teacher has done so much for my son who has suspected ADHD and autism,’ said her nominator, Chantelle Cardinho. 

‘She has been there through every stumble and emotional outburst and supported me also. I know she does this for other children also with additional needs. 

‘She has implemented many strategies to help my son cope with the school day and has assisted me with the referral process.’ 

Hannah patiently helps calm her son down and has come up with strategies like using fidget toys to make things easier for him. 

They uphold a system of communication, both of them letting the other know if he is having a bad day so they each know what to expect. 

‘She made me feel like I can trust her with him. She’s a fantastic teacher, support to parents and a lovely person.’ 

Hannah has been teaching for five years, with the past four spent at Amherst Primary School. 

‘I love working with children, there is always something that makes me smile every day,’ she said. 

‘I work with so many amazing teachers and support staff who dedicate so much time and energy into their jobs every day.’
