WHEN a child attends Butterflies Pre-School, they and their parents automatically become part of the family.
According to co-owner Sue, every student past and present knows them as their ‘Aunties’, which can cause ‘confusion among the public when numerous children come up and call you Aunty in Waitrose’.
However, the family and community feel is a central part as to why the parents of Butterflies Pre-School pupils have nominated Elaine, Sue, Becca and the other teachers for a Pride of Guernsey award.
‘Butterflies Pre-School is a wonderful and nurturing pre-school,’ they said.
‘Leaders Elaine, Sue and Becca have gone above and beyond to meet all of the children’s needs – many of the children this year have additional needs, and they have ensured that each child still has every opportunity to have fun, learn and to be loved.’
Elaine has owned the establishment for several years but this year marked the first year of joint ownership with Sue.
‘They are compassionate, caring and above all nurturing to every child in their setting – they fully deserve this wonderful nomination to thank them for their continued hard work and dedication to helping grow and inspire our children.’
