For Libby Gallienne, Denise Holley is the epitome of what the Angel of the Year award stands for and feels that she deserves the utmost recognition.
Denise has been working as a healthcare assistant in Le Marchant Ward of the Princess Elizabeth Hospital for three and a half years.
‘Denise is the most kind and patient carer I have ever met,’ Libby said in her nomination.
‘She deserves the award because she is quite literally an angel – she has compassion and kindness for those she cares for, not to mention the hard work she puts in to make sure the patients are comfortable and happy.’
Le Marchant Ward focuses on assessment and rehabilitation of patients with varying needs including following general or post-orthopaedic surgery, a stroke or Parkinson’s disease, offering around the clock care.
‘She works tirelessly for those in need of her help and support,’ Libby added.
