Laura Nicholls has been nominated for the Angel of the Year

Laura Nicholls has been nominated for her work at the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service.

‘Laura shows every week that she properly, genuinely cares and that all she wants from the different therapy sessions she has with her young people is for them to get better and be able to live their lives rather than feel like they’re just surviving it,’ said her nominator, who wishes to remain anonymous.

‘Laura is someone who saved my life – and that isn’t just me saying that because she’s supported me, she’s saved my life. When I didn’t believe I was good enough to be here anymore she picked me up when I was stuck in a true deep end and brought me out of it. She was the light at the end of one of the deepest, darkest tunnels I thought I’d be stuck in forever.

‘She has inspired me to be better for me and only me, and proper changed my views on my future and is why I want to work with young children. I’m finally nearly out of the dark hole I’ve been stuck in so long and it’s all down to her – I’ve made it this far because of her and truly I couldn’t be any more thankful.’
