Harman Cervales has been nominated for the Angel of the Year

‘A ray of sunshine through the darkest days’, Harman Cervales ‘always has a bright cheery smile’ on Bulstrode Ward. 

‘Cancer can be an endless rollercoaster of a ride and without these people by our side day in and day out it would be an incredibly scary and lonely road,’ said his nominator, who wishes to remain anonymous. 

‘He is a kind, caring and beautiful man who has touched my heart and will remain in it forever, and I am sure many others will agree. 

‘He has been by my side as a nurse, pretty much from the start of my unforgiving, tiresome and challenging journey. He makes time to sit with me, reassure me, empathise with me. 

‘While having chemotherapy every week he would ensure that “my chair” was saved as he could see that the thought of a change of habit would cause me anxiety.’

His nominator also credits him as being the key reason behind the reduction in their fear of needles. 

‘His support is unwavering, giving positivity and hope. He has a wealth of endless knowledge and experience and our hospital is extremely fortunate to have him. 

‘We should be very proud that he settled in Guernsey and working within our hospital, he is a true credit to our whole wonderful nursing team.’
