Like a swan swimming, it may look tranquil above water, but below its legs are working hard – this can be said about the GSPCA with its 24/7 care allowing animals around Guernsey to be looked after.
A ‘true angel’ who has dedicated nearly a decade to volunteering at the charity is Sarah Langlois, who has been nominated for Carer of the Year.
‘Sarah has been an incredible asset to the GSPCA over the last 10 years,’ said nominator Steven Byrne.
‘Sarah has worked in all departments from night duties and reception, to helping with our pet cremation services that help more than 150 bereaved families a year, in kennels to transported animals from the UK in need of homes – Sarah is always super helpful, kind and always wants to do her best.’
On top of these various duties, Sarah has also had to go into court in relation to animal cruelty cases and provide cover for the GSPCA ambulance.
‘If we ever face challenges, Sarah is often the first to volunteer her help and support – she has been such a superstar and a huge part of the GSPCA.’
