Cobo Suite at Maison L’Aumone has been nominated for the Carer of the Year award

THE Cobo Suite at Maison L’Aumone has become a ‘home away from home’ for Jess Torode as her Dad, who suffers from advanced Parkinson’s Disease, has been part of the home’s family for seven years.

For this reason, as well as the team’s overwhelming positivity and care, Jess and her husband Pete have nominated the Cobo Suite staff for Carer of the Year.

‘The staff in Cobo create a welcoming environment for both residents and their families,’ Jess said.

‘Residents are treated with dignity and respect and the staff really care about their wellbeing – from crafts to outings in the car and ice cream and cake afternoons, there is usually something going on and the families are included too.’

Jess added that the team had gone above and beyond to help her Dad and the family in recent times after his illness progressed and he broke his hip in February 2024. 

‘In spite of his illness, [the team] encouraged him to follow his interests and continue to do what he enjoys, making him feel a valued member of the L’Aumone community, and not just a resident to be cared for.’
