Alex Le Pelley has been nominated for the Carer of the Year award

‘ABSOLUTE GODSEND’ Alex Le Pelley has been nominated as Carer of the Year. 

‘I got to know Alex eight years ago,’ said her nominator Nikkie Kerr. 

‘She moved in with her parents at the extra care home. Everyone has a reason for living here and we have become so close – like family to them and them to us. 

‘As time goes by you really do need each other and help each other out at any time. Alex would go to her full-time job, come home to cook the tea, clean around doing many jobs that are needed. 

‘A few years ago Alex moved into her own little home, and still would come and do all the necessary jobs. 

‘During Covid, Alex quickly moved back into the flat, otherwise she would never see them or be able to help out, but also when she went to do their shopping she also did ours too.’

When Alex was allowed to move back to her own home, she continued to help out like before.

Alex also became firm friends with Nikkie’s son, going to his events and bonding over sport.

‘So I feel Alex would be a very worthy winner of the carers' category for all she’s done for us.’
