Tom Falla has been nominated for the Carer of the Year award

‘THE inspiring dedication and selflessness’ of Tom Falla has seen him nominated for Carer of the Year. 

He became the primary carer of his partner Daisy after she was diagnosed with motor neurone disease in 2020, marrying her shortly after the diagnosis.

It left her wheelchair-bound and requiring full-time assistance, which Tom juggles alongside his job at the post office.

‘It’s hard work but I do it out of love for my wife and I know she would do the same for me if I was ill,’ he said.

Nominator Sophie Yabsley said that their love is inspiring to those around them.

‘Throughout the last four years both Tom and Daisy have tried their best to retain their enjoyment of life and most importantly their sense of humour,’ she said.

‘Everything that Daisy needs, Tom carries out with alacrity and without hesitation, he’s dedicated his life to ensuring that Daisy is as comfortable and well looked after as she possibly can be. Their relationship is heartening for all that know them.’
