'Sam is so helpful to all her customers, very knowledgeable about all the products she sells and has been incredibly helpful in looking at alternative ways to help my young pup with his tummy health,’ said her nominator Rachel Sinclair, who was ‘really conscious’ of overdoing antibiotics on his sensitive guts. Samantha offered advice in her own time on gentler and more easily digestible food for him.
‘He’s like a different pup,’ Rachel said.
Sam worked as a police dog trainer where her dog had food allergies, and was faced with limited options in trying to deal with it.
She then took over the Pukka Tukka pet supply business five and a half years ago.
Recently, Samantha sent her first-ever order to Alderney, providing more options to pet-owners in neighbouring Channel Islands.
At her shop there are hundreds of natural treats to choose from, ranging from rabbit ears, oven-baked goodies and pigs ears.
There are a plethora of raw meats to make up their meals, even special dinners like beef tripe and duck portions.
In addition to operating out of the shop, Pukka Tukka is a regular presence at Seafront Sundays, providing doggie ice-cream, toys and special treats to all the canines out for a stroll with their owners.
