Laura Meinke and Chris Brassell have been nominated for Customer Service of the Year

‘Since the ladies took over the shop they have been so friendly and helpful,’ said their nominator, Tamara O’Brien. 

Tamara makes the postbox toppers that pop up all around the island. 

She needs a great deal of wool to turn her ideas into reality, and Craftwise’s Laura and Chris are always happy to help. 

‘As soon as you walk in, you are always greeted with a smile. I come in with some crazy ideas for my postbox toppers and the ladies always go above and beyond to help with items, even dropping some wool to me on their day off when I wasn’t well enough to make it in to collect.’ 

Laura took over the arts and crafts shop alongside husband Dan and mother Chris in January 2023, and was over the moon with their nomination. 

Inside there are paints aplenty, fabrics falling from the shelves and a jewel of a fancy-dress section. 

‘All of our customers are so lovely,’ she said. 

‘There’s always been a lot going into our customer service, and making it a safe place and a comforting one for customers. We’ve always wanted to give off a friendly vibe.’
