Liz is the head of Floral St Saviour, coordinating the team that maintains gardens and flowers within St Saviour’s and around the whole of Guernsey. Liz has been volunteering for more than eight years and views the floral team as a family.
‘Meeting new people and friends, encouraging people to be involved’ said Liz when asked what she enjoys the most about Floral St Saviour. ‘An hour can make a huge difference for us’ said Liz and she loves when everyone gets involved with floral activities.
‘She’s so grateful and makes sure everyone is included, she’s infectious’ said Liz’s nominator Cathy Bailey, who met Liz through the Community Centre three years ago.
Liz enhances the facility making it an inclusive space and an incredible community asset. Liz cares for all the plants in the community by sorting flower arrangements with a small team of people, ‘it’s so motivating,’ said Cathy.
