Bernie has been part of the Bridge Neighbourhood Watch for 14 years, raising money for the parish and for a number of charities. ‘Everything she does is unpaid and there are always things that Bernie wants to do’ said her nominator Linda Le Vasseur who has known Bernie for five years.
‘Bernie is always helping others and does so freely and willingly,’ she said.
‘It feels lovely to be nominated,’ said Bernie when she heard about her nomination.
Raising money for charities from events such as raffles is lovely fun to Bernie, and she loves being able to do something nice for the community.
‘Being there to help someone else and just doing it to please others’ she said.
The raffle that Bernie organised raised a significant amount of money allowing the community to do so many things with the funds.
