Joanne Ellis will always make time for her children, and though she does not have the chance to take them out often, she simply enjoys trying to make them laugh as much as she can.
‘She’s always there and goes above and beyond for all of her six grandchildren,’ said Christine Sealley, Joanne’s daughter and nominator for the Pride of Guernsey Grandparent of the Year award.
Joanne has been there since the eldest one was born, even right beside Christine when she gave birth. Now Joanne has six grandchildren, and she loves to see every single one of them.
‘I’m very emotional, it’s amazing,’ said Joanne when she heard about her nomination. Joanne loves to do new things with her grandchildren and is proud of her own children for giving her that opportunity.
‘I love talking about them, everything they do and I’m very proud of them,’ said Joanne. Whatever she has going on, whether work, darts or dancing, she will always make the time to look after her grandchildren when needed.
