17-year-old Sam has been playing the violin since he was seven years old and has made it to the national standard level of a musical superstar.
‘Sam Cole really is a musical superstar, playing violin at national level for four years as well as performing guitar, banjo and piano in various local ensembles,’ said Anne Dorey his nominator, whose daughter played in various ensembles with Sam.
After leading the Guernsey Youth Orchestra and Youth Chamber Orchestra at 14, Sam quickly advanced to the National Youth Orchestra at 15 and successfully applied to London’s Junior Guildhall School of Music.
‘Whilst achieving all he’s done with music, Sam is a very polite, quiet-mannered and lovely young man,’ said Anne.
Sam is hugely appreciated by all that have had the pleasure of playing alongside this talented musician and Sam hopes that after his A-levels he will be able to study music at university or conservatoire.
