AMICE ANDERSON has been nominated for the Young Achiever of the Year award, which is sponsored by St Pierre Park. She has been nominated due to her work to develop fencing on Guernsey and her triumphs within the sport.
Amice is the youth representative for the Guernsey Fencing Club committee. She is also on the Great Britain Women’s Cadet Foil team and has represented Great Britain at several European fencing competitions this year.
She trains hard, which results in consistently improving her rankings and allows her to bring her training experiences to the club to help other members.
‘Amice has been working very hard to help build up the sport of fencing on Guernsey,’ said her nominator Lauren Hallett.
‘She has been an inspiration to our young fencers as well as always offering to help with the adults club as well.’
Amice said: ‘I am really pleased. I hope to be a great representative for other young fencers.’
