Abi has faced numerous mental health challenges and traumatic life events, and ‘despite going through darkness and pain Abi has never been afraid to share her experiences, being a beacon of light and hope for other young people,’ said Abi’s nominator who would like to remain anonymous.
‘I’m shocked to be nominated, being autistic and struggling with your mental health isn’t easy but I’ve had really good support from the Guernsey Camhs team and I’m looking forward to the future, especially starting community nursing in the next couple of months,’ said Abi when she heard about her nomination, and on what she enjoys most about nursing: ‘Helping others and giving back to the community’.
‘To be able to turn around struggles and pain into giving back is admirable and Abi does just that whilst on her healing journey.
‘I have been in awe of Abi’s journey and everything she is achieving; she deserves this recognition,’ said Abi’s nominator who believes Abi should be incredibly proud of herself.
