LOCAL infant and toddler business owner Elise Trebert has been nominated for Overcoming Adversity due to her charitable efforts in honour of her father.
Baby Sensory and Toddler Sense offers parents programmes designed to stimulate their baby’s senses while improving their learning and development, businesses Elise operated while suffering the loss of her father to suicide in 2022.
‘Elise’s classes have always been wonderful with so much hard work and planning going into every session, you would never know she was going through such an awful loss herself,’ said nominator Emily Tostevin.
To mark two years of Toddler Sense, Elise organised a fundraiser for Guernsey Mind in honour of her dad, raising over £10,300.
‘I wanted to use my business as a platform to raise awareness for the charity and mental health. Suicide is still a bit of a taboo so there’s still a lot of work to be done,’ said Elise.
