Arts Contribution: Mariposa Strings

The Mariposa Strings, which was set up by Nicole Wyatt, has been nominated for the Arts Contribution of the Year award, kindly sponsored by Moonpig. 

Nicole founded Nicole Wyatt Music after returning to the island in 2014, with the aim of delivering high quality music for all age groups and audiences.

The Mariposa Strings group consists of professionally qualified local musicians who play a wide of selection of music for recitals, events and functions. 

‘The people who perform with the Mariposa string quartet are just so talented and they are all so enthusiastic about what they do,’ said the nominator, who wishes to remain anonymous. 

‘They have recently been performing at the Guernsey Street Festival and their instrumental versions of modern songs got everyone in the High Street bopping their heads.’ 

‘They have got a way of drawing you in and you can really tell that they put their all into what they do.’
