‘EXCEPTIONALLY KIND’ taxi driver Kevin Gaudion has been nominated for the Medical Specialist Group-sponsored Emergency Hero of the Year award.

His nominator, who wishes to remain anonymous, praised him for going the extra mile for his passengers.

‘I believe that Kevin deserves to be recognised for the work he has done in promoting the installation of mobile defibrillators in taxis.’

‘He has been committed to raising awareness of the

vital equipment and now

both of Alpine Taxis’ vehicles have been fitted with defibrillators.’

‘Following the creation of a GoFundMe page, Kevin raised and received huge amounts of public support for what he is doing.’

After originally planning to raise enough money for a defibrillator in his own taxi, the positive support from the community meant that he was able to raise just under £4,000.

With this money, he was able to install defibrillators in four vehicles and to organise a training evening for various taxi drivers.

‘By installing defibrillators in more vehicles in the industry, taxis nearby to an emergency could be called and lives could be saved,’ said the nominator.

‘Kevin is so enthusiastic and passionate – we need more people like him.’
