Neighbour of the Year: Anne Hutchings

ANNE HUTCHINGS has been nominated for the Guernsey Energy-sponsored Neighbour of the Year award.

Anne is friendly, welcoming, and loves to help others, said her nominator, who wished to remain anonymous.

‘She recently held a fundraising tea party for Pink Ladies Guernsey, to which she invited her family, friends, and neighbours. After losing her husband and close family members to cancer, and knowing dear friends suffering with breast cancer, she decided to do something to help the local cancer charity.

‘The time and effort Anne put into the event was admirable, even creating a brilliant quiz and holding a raffle with more than 30 prizes she had donated herself. She made everyone feel so welcome and I think we could all agree that she was an excellent hostess, tirelessly handing out sandwiches, tea and coffees.

‘Not only did she raise money for such an important cause, she also brought her neighbours and loved ones together for a lovely afternoon.’
