ELLIE JONES has been nominated for the RBC-sponsored Diversity and Inclusion award for their ‘passionate, professional, and well-informed’ approach to fighting for equality.
Karen Blanchford, partnership director of Guernsey Disability Alliance, nominated them for their determined attitude and activism.
‘Ellie is a phenomenal individual who works tirelessly for equality diversity and inclusion in Guernsey,’ she said.
‘They have dedicated themselves to their work for Liberate, the Youth Commission, and being a core member of Equality Guernsey.
‘They have also dedicated extra time to providing education in schools, raising awareness in the community for LGBTQ+ issues.’
Karen also admired their individual advocacy work, campaigning for providing education in schools, and partnering with businesses.
‘The list of their hard work is endless,’ she said.
‘Ellie is highly respected and is an inspiration to so many.
‘I am not sure how Ellie does it all.
‘They have built strong relationships with the community and have been spreading the word on equality issues for such a long time.
‘They are still campaigning for equal rights on a voluntary basis.’
