STAFF at the Bulstrode Oncology Unit have been nominated for Angel of the Year, sponsored by Ravenscroft.
Bulstrode provides care to patients with a cancer diagnosis.
Dedication, hard work, positivity and kindness to both patients and visitors are some of the reasons that nominator Sarah-Jane Harker Vivian gave for nominating the unit.
Specially-trained nurses provide support from diagnosis all the way through treatment and side effects.
There are currently 18 staff working in the unit, including doctors, nurses, personal assistants and reception staff.
The majority of cancer treatments can be given locally rather than having to send patients to Southampton and the unit supports a visiting consultant from Southampton who reviews patients.
The oncology unit also has two scalp cooling machines that may help to reduce the amount of hair lost during treatment, sponsored by the Walk the Walk charity, which provides and maintains the machines.
Members of the team also help those who suffer from hair loss to choose, order and style a wig if they wish.
