‘KIND and passionate’ teacher Carys Broome has been nominated for the Teacher of the Year award, sponsored by HSBC.
Mrs Broome has been working at St Martin’s School for one year, but has been in education much longer.
Nominator Kieran Robilliard said: ‘Carys is always going out of her way to make sure the class get the most out of the lesson and always makes it fun.
‘She cares so much about the progress of her class, she goes far and beyond in her effort to make sure they have the best chance for a good education.
‘She’s amazing, caring, kind and passionate and definitely deserves to win this award.’
One of Mrs Broome’s students, Chloe Norman, said: ‘Mrs Broome is extra kind.
‘If you don’t understand something she will definitely help you.
‘She is also funny and if you are sad, within five minutes of Mrs Broome being there, you will be smiling.
‘Whether it’s maths or friendship, she can help.
‘Mrs Broome is the best teacher so that’s why I am nominating her.’
Mrs Broome said she loves teaching and wouldn’t want to do anything else.
‘I love watching the children growing and learning,’ she said.’
