MARGARET and Dave Guille have been nominated for the Grandparent/s of the Year award, sponsored by Channel Islands Co-operative Society, for their dedication to looking after their granddaughter.

They have also been more than willing to help out their daughter, who is also their nominator, and her four children whenever called upon.

‘My parents deserve this award as they are the best grandparents I could wish for my children to have,’ said their nominator, Nicola Gardner.

‘When my sister died 12 years ago, my parents chose to have custody of my niece.

‘She was just seven years old at the time and they have been bringing her up ever since.

‘Even though they are normally quite busy people, they are both always there for my husband and I as well as our four children when we need them.

‘They will do anything at all to help out their family.’
