CHRIS LE FRIEC has been nominated for the Sure-sponsored Sports Volunteer of the Year award due to his selfless approach to sport.
His nominator, who wished to remain anonymous, praised him for his work for the football club Belgrave Wanderers.
‘Chris has done wonders at the club over the past few years. He has been the leading light in the development of the club’s minis section, which is no mean feat given it is a commitment every Saturday morning, all Saturday morning, for about 40 weeks a year,’ he said.
‘As its head of social media, he is running the minis section from ground zero, and bringing back the veterans team’s social presence. The veterans team has therefore done incredibly well, and paid him back by winning the league in its second season.
‘It is all done not to benefit himself but to give better sport for others.
‘He is an impressive guy who can’t do enough for his club.
‘I have been amazed at the depth of Chris’s contribution to reinvigorating Belgrave Wanderers over the past few years. He’s definitely the kind of guy that every club needs.’
