Young Achiever: Oscar Armenta

OSCAR ARMENTA has been nominated for the Young Achiever of the Year award, which is sponsored by St Pierre Park.

Nominator Jess Rowe said: ‘Oscar, a singer-songwriter, has achieved loads recently, and deserves to be recognised for that.

‘He is frequently seen singing in Town and also participated in the Guernsey Street Festival.

‘He is extremely talented and has put a lot of time and effort into his music, which has paid off recently.

‘Oscar has worked with the School of Popular Music, who posted a video of him singing to their YouTube channel about a year ago.

‘A management company in the UK saw the video and helped him record his cover of No Right to Love You by Ryan Lewis in May.

‘That is an incredible achievement in itself but to top it off, his cover appeared on this year’s Love Island for all to see.

‘He should be so proud of all that he’s achieved, as it is evident that he works so hard.’
