Teacher of the Year: Dallas Courtenay-Warren

RETIRING Notre Dame du Rosaire teacher Dallas Courtenay-Warren has been nominated for the Teacher of the Year award, which is kindly sponsored by HSBC.

‘She is such a dedicated person, putting in many extra hours over and above the traditional school day, so she is fully prepared to teach and make learning interesting, fun and accessible to the young people she has in her class,’ said her nominator, who wishes to remain anonymous.

‘Her teaching comes alive, not least because she has prepared so thoroughly and she is much respected by her pupils.

‘She also cares greatly for the wellbeing of each of her students.

‘Dallas has been a teacher in the primary sector for a number of years and will be retiring at the end of this summer term.

‘She will be greatly missed in school, but has already arranged to do supply teaching in the coming years.

‘It would be a wonderful finale to her teaching career to be the Teacher of the Year.’
