Carer of the Year: Silvinha Soares

‘SELFLESS and dedicated’ Silvinha Soares has been nominated for the Carer of the Year award, which is sponsored by Specsavers.

Miss Soares has been working at Green Oaks care home for three years and has recently been awarded her NVQ level 3 in health and social care.

She was put forward by colleague Jenna Eldridge, who said: ‘I work with Silvinha at Green Oaks nursing home, she is selfless and so dedicated to each and everyone of our residents, making sure they have the best possible lives.

‘From the day I started at Green Oaks, Silvinha has been my rock, always helpful, kind and so welcoming with new staff and residents alike.

‘Silvinha has worked [with] CI Healthcare for a long time working across the homes, however we are very lucky to have her now at Green Oaks where she helps our staff and residents grow each day.

‘Her passion for care shines through in everything she does and our residents’ lives are so much better for having her involved.

‘Silvinha has so much empathy and has the ability to put herself in the shoes of everyone she cares for.

‘She always tailors her care around the deep understanding she has of our residents and the care she provides is such high quality and person-centred.

‘Without her passion and drive our wonderful home would not be the same.

‘I feel privileged to work with such an amazing person.’
