‘INSPIRATIONAL’ Michelle Snow has been nominated by students Neva Hockey and Jack Turton for the HSBC-sponsored Teacher of the Year award.
‘Michelle is the most caring, enthusiastic and bubbly person we have ever met and brings her excitement and enthusiasm to every lesson. She has previously literally bounced into the classroom with excitement for the lesson ahead,’ they said.
Michelle has worked at the College of Further Education for 14 years and teaches a variety of sports courses as well as being a secondary tutor.
‘She has provided advice and support to us by assisting with job and university applications as well as interview preparation, even after completing our course in June. She has put hours of extra time into helping us,’ Neva and Jack said.
Despite having to home-school two children during lockdown and so working 6am-10pm daily, Michelle still provided excellent support to her students during the pandemic.
‘Since the beginning of college Michelle has offered hours of extra individual support as both a tutor and lecturer to our group throughout the two years and especially throughout the pandemic.
‘She has treated us all in a mature way and helped to guide us with our decisions about our next steps as for some of us that meant figuring out what we wanted to do.
‘Michelle has been nothing but positive, which has been reflected in our grades and our motivation throughout the course.
‘Nothing could repay Michelle for the endless hours she’s put into our group and how far she has got us all.’
