A SELFLESS husband and devoted carer, Gary Sindall has been nominated for Carer of the Year, sponsored by Specsavers, by his wife, Sami.
Sami has suffered with fibromyalgia for her whole life as well as coping with other illnesses.
She said she wanted to take the opportunity the Pride of Guernsey awards offered to express her gratitude to her husband of 17 years.
‘When I became pregnant with our last child 12 years ago, my health got so bad I could no longer work.
‘My husband quit his job as a carpenter, which he loved, to become a house husband as well as my carer. He does everything for us all, me and the five children we have between us.
‘I would not be where I am now without his help, love and support. We really do appreciate everything he does for all of us every day. No matter how he is feeling, he always gets up to do school runs and shopping as well as housework. He goes above and beyond for us every day.
‘We are extremely lucky to have him and would be completely lost without him. I know deep down he misses working, but he never complains about how difficult his life has become.’
