Customer Service of the Year: Manor Farm Foods

LOCAL business Manor Farm Foods has been nominated for the Cherry Godfrey-sponsored Customer Service of the Year award for exceptional hard work during lockdown.

LOCAL business Manor Farm Foods has been nominated for the Cherry Godfrey-sponsored Customer Service of the Year award for exceptional hard work during lockdown.

As islanders were required to quarantine, self-isolate or shield, Manor Farm kept households stocked. Usual business was turned on its head as it switched from mostly supplying caterers to home delivery.

Nominator Cindy Carre said: ‘I feel the team at Manor Farm Foods deserve recognition for the long hours and hard work throughout the pandemic. Increased delivery times saw them delivering door to door from early in the morning until 9pm six days a week.’

Manor Farm Foods recognised that local food suppliers from fishermen to farmers were struggling and began distributing island-sourced products.

Later, items such as recycling bags and bin stickers were added to the menu.

‘They increased product ranges to meet the needs of the community and helped ease the anxiety that many families would have felt standing in long supermarket queues.’

Islanders stuck inside eagerly awaited food parcels, which upon arrival were like Christmas.

‘They have supported islanders who have had to shield or were scared to go out shopping and they continue to do an excellent job supporting the Bailiwick. I know I speak for many islanders when I say how grateful we all are for this amazing service.’

Since lockdown has eased services have continued to improve after the need for home delivery generally was identified.

‘Shopping online has made my life so much easier and I am glad to support this local business.’
