HAPPY and helpful are the team at St Martins Grande Rue Pharmacy, who went the extra mile setting up a delivery scheme over lockdown.

The pharmacy has been nominated for the Cherry Godfrey-sponsored Customer Service of the Year award.

Staff never complained during the height of the pandemic and made sure that their customers were not cut off from their medicine while isolating.

Their nominator, who wished to remain anonymous, said: ‘When we were in lockdown it was so helpful to be able to have my prescriptions delivered. I was self-isolating for the whole duration as I needed to shield and it was a worry knowing how I would have managed otherwise.’

Setting up a delivery system at the last minute was quite literally going the extra mile.

‘I live at home on my own and was thankful to know that I was not completely alone and that someone was looking out for me. They made sure that their customers didn’t go without and had access to the medicine they needed. It must’ve been a worry for them, too, working throughout, but their service is much appreciated.

‘Whenever my prescriptions have changed they’ve talked me through everything. The girls there are always happy and greet you with a smile and nothing is too much bother.’

Company from popping into the pharmacy was missed over lockdown.

‘After going in for so long I always have a chat while I’m in there picking up my prescriptions. This is my way of saying thank you for your lovely service.’
