A VULNERABLE customer has praised Barras Car Centre for the staff’s understanding and caring customer service.

Living up to their offer of a ‘warm welcome’ for customers venturing to the garage complex in Vale to buy a new or used vehicle or to take up the offer of looking after a car or van, the centre was said to have provided a considerate approach to the needs of one customer in particular.

In their anonymous nomination for the Cherry Godfrey-sponsored Customer Service of the Year award, they said: ‘I was having to decide about changing my car when I was in a very vulnerable state.

‘They couldn’t have been more understanding or helpful.

‘There was no pressure – my questions were answered sympathetically and advice offered.’

The nominator added that the staff at the centre had gone beyond just selling her a new car and had also helped to personalise her new vehicle for her.

‘My new car does not have a CD player and I had been playing a particular one all the time in my old car,’ she said.

‘They downloaded this CD from Amazon, as mine was a homemade copy which wouldn’t download onto a stick, at no extra charge or anything.

‘So sympathetic and helpful.’
