A POSTMAN who brought chocolate to children at Easter-time has been nominated for the Cherry Godfrey-sponsored Customer Service of the Year award.
Tony Holland has been nominated for the award by Sheila Le Provost.
She said that after telling Mr Holland she hadn’t had ormers for years, he brought her some.
‘He also gave all the houses with children some sunflower seeds,’ she said.
A box of the seeds, photographed on the States of Guernsey twitter page, came with a note which said, ‘Love the rainbow! Plant a little sunshine with these sunflower seeds.’
Tony Holland featured in the Guernsey Press some months ago for organising a bright clothes day to raise money for charity.
‘At a time when most people are stuck at home we just wanted to do something cheerful,’ he said at the time.
Ms Le Provost said the charity event raised more than £1,500, which was donated to help front line care workers.
She added that he is ‘a lovely postie’ who checks up on her when delivering to the street to make sure she is OK.
‘All the residents love his friendly face and helpfulness.
‘I’m proud to nominate him.’
