Pride of Guernsey: Michelle Shell

MICHELLE Shell who works at Le Grand Courtil home has been nominated for the Specsavers-sponsored Carer of the Year Award. Michelle has been recognised by two nominators, one being Betty Guille, who lives at the St Martin’s-located home, and puts Michelle forward for her bubbly and jolly personality.

Michelle has been recognised by two nominators, one being Betty Guille, who lives at the St Martin’s-located home, and puts Michelle forward for her bubbly and jolly personality.

‘She works at our home, and is very happy - she is always a good laugh and has an amazing laugh.’

‘We [Betty and her husband Richard] have been living at this home for three years, and she comes in always with a big smile.’

‘She sees if we are alright, and helps put Richard’s socks on,’ Betty said.

Michelle works at the home, formally known as Longue Rue House, which opened in May 2016.

‘She is very good at her job.’

Second nominator Lois Archer said, ‘She does everything with a smile.’

‘She is always wanting to help people - she is just such a lovely lady.’
