Pride of Guernsey: Paulette Brouard

NOMINEE and Morrison’s staff member Paulette Brouard has been nominated for the Alexander Daniels-sponsored Customer Service of the Year Award.

Paulette has been recognised by Katharine Sangan, a regular customer who has shopped at the St Peter’s store for 10-15 years.

‘She is always friendly, helpful and polite,’ Katharine said. ‘I admire her for her professional attitude to the job and her consistent positivity.

‘She is unfailingly cheerful, although over the years she has had many very difficult things going on in her personal life – I only know this because I have been going there for such a long time that we have got to the stage of chatting.

‘Whatever difficulties she is facing, the customer would never know.’

On top of her ‘lovely nature’, Katharine said that Paulette points out any offers you might have missed when getting to the till in order for you to get the best deal, and she rings for assistance as soon as a queue forms.

‘She is truly an unsung hero who deserves recognition for brightening what is a mundane chore.’
