Pride of Guernsey: The Kiln Cafe & Restaurant

THE owner and staff of the The Kiln Cafe & Restaurant at Oatlands Village have been nominated for the Guernsey Gas-sponsored Warm Welcome of the Year award for their ability to make customers feel like friends.

The Kiln owner Jennifer Meeks and manager Grzegorz Szczepawski have been described by their nominator, David Wilcocks, as always doing their utmost to make sure that every customer is cared for.
‘For two years now they
have been smiling and treating people like family,’ he said.
‘With their warm welcome, nothing is ever too much to ask.’
Mr Wilcocks described their service as ‘absolutely amazing, friendly and courteous’.
‘When you see the staff, Greg and Jenny with the rest of the customers, it’s like they are old friends – nothing is too much and it is always done with a great smile,’ he said.
Staff at the Kiln have also been recognised for their dedication to go above and beyond the call of duty.
‘I was in the restaurant once when somebody who used an oxygen bottle had ran out,’ said Mr Wilcocks.
‘The whole team went above and beyond and managed to make some calls and get this person a new bottle.’
