Steph Batiste

Steph Batiste has been nominated for the Sports Volunteer award, sponsored by Sure.

She is heavily involved in the local sports scene, having worked with the Sports Commission and most recently participating in football at the Guernsey 2023 Island Games.

‘She has always loved sport of any kind,’ said her nominators.

Steph has done work with the Sports Commission on its Street Sports programme, which is a free community scheme to make sports accessible to all children across the island.

Her most recent sporting achievement was representing the island in last month’s Island Games.

‘I had the best time. I am so proud to have been a part of it,’ she said.

Steph has played football since she was eight years old, however, after the 2019 Games, she took a break from the sport to focus on netball.

She was ‘surprised’ and ‘overwhelmed’ at her nominations.

Her nominators said that: ‘Steph is always a kind and positive person whose enthusiasm is infectious. She wants others to enjoy sport just as much as she does.’
