The annual festival has been active for three years and with it has brought endless musical and artistic talent to the streets of Guernsey.
‘The Guernsey Street Festival is run by exceptional and dedicated committee members,’ one of their nominators said, who wishes to remain anonymous.
These dedicated committee members include Claire, Graham and Rachel Dawson, Lydia Pugh, Jack Honeybill, Dave Wheeler, Andrew Pouteaux and Dominique Ogier-Keltie.
‘It’s all volunteer work, none of the committee get paid,’ said Claire Dawson.
The Guernsey Street Festival is put together for the only purpose of bringing joy to locals, tourists and performers through music and art.
‘The talent shown on the streets is immense and the atmosphere throughout Town electric,’ said Ian Cuthbertson, another nominator.
‘I’m overwhelmed, we’ve had such a tough week,’ said Claire when she heard about the nomination.
With all the committee members having full-time jobs, the work they do for the festival is accomplished in their spare time.
‘They’ve really impacted Guernsey, lighting up the streets,’ one of their nominators said.
