‘AN OUTSTANDING TEAM’ is how their nominator describes Dr Ruth Taberner and her secretary Cheryl Lowe.
Elaine Roussel has put the pair forward for this year’s Angel of the Year award, sponsored by Ravenscroft.
‘They are an outstanding team. Cheryl is always ready to listen and given any messages to Dr Ruth and listen to all problems great and small in complete confidentiality at Cobo Surgery,’ said Mrs Roussel in her nomination.
‘Cheryl is the person I get through to first and then Dr Taberner will try to ring me back and find me. She will always try and get me before she goes home.
‘You know that when you’ve said something to Cheryl that Dr Taberner will get the message promptly and however difficult it is she will get through when she can.
‘She is the other half of Dr Taberner.
‘They are irreplaceable in all ways as a team’.
Mrs Roussel said she became Dr Taberner’s patient some 15 years ago when her previous GP retired, but before then she had been a familiar face at the surgery: ‘I was the practice nurse,’ she said.
