JOHN JOHNSON from Jacksons Garage has been nominated for the Customer Service award because ‘he could have a second career in teaching customer service’.

The Cherry Godfrey-sponsored award aims to recognise the consumer champions who always go the extra mile.

John, who is part of the service team at Jacksons, was nominated by customer Katie Blampied:

‘He is the most helpful and efficient person, and friendly, calm and considerate, and nothing is too much trouble for him – staying late, inconveniencing himself is not a bother for him.

‘If John says he’s going to do something he actually does it, which you don’t find everywhere unfortunately.

‘He is an absolute pleasure to deal with – even if he was gnashing his teeth in the background, you’d never know about it.’

It was one incident in particular that settled it for Katie and she decided that she had to nominate him for the award.

‘One day the car stopped dead as I was driving along the road, and I rang John, but then it started and stopped again, so my daughter came down and she drove behind me and we set off for Jacksons, and John said he would wait until we got there and if en route the car broke down and wouldn’t start again then he would send someone out to get it.

‘Well, it took us ages to get it back to Jacksons and it was well after 7pm and he was still there waiting for us, so that’s above and beyond the call of duty.

‘He had already taken it upon himself to organise a loan car in case my daughter couldn’t ferry me around and he got the problem sorted out quickly.’

Katie suggested that John could start a second career in teaching the art of great customer service.
