ST PIERRE PARK Hotel, Spa & Golf Resort, owned and operated by Hand Picked Hotels, is delighted to once again sponsor the Pride of Guernsey Awards, backing the Young Achiever of the Year.

Resort general manager Jonathan Squire commented: ‘I am proud to return as a sponsor of these prestigious awards to support the deserved winner of the Young Achiever of the Year accolade. The awards provide a wonderful opportunity to recognise those who have contributed so much to the local community over the past year, and as an hotelier in one of the largest hotels on the island with a considerable team of emerging young talent, I know how much it means to identify and reward those who go above and beyond.’

St Pierre Park is no stranger to rewarding talent. ‘We offer an employee recognition scheme here at the hotel, rewarding an employee of the month, which culminates in an employee of the year who attends our annual awards ceremony on the mainland hosted by our CEO and chairman, Julia Hands MBE,’ Jonathan continues.

‘I am proud to champion the Hand Picked Hotels learning and development programme here in Guernsey, which includes a mix of virtual learning, classroom-style interactive training and on the job practical support. Whilst we do have a number of seasonal staff, we also have a considerable full and part-time brigade and a number of long-service staff who are testament to our “grow your own talent” commitment.’

Built at the beginning of the 19th century, St Pierre Park is long-established within the Guernsey landscape, having undergone several transformations before its conversion to a hotel. Under Hand Picked Hotels’ management, St Pierre Park has gone from strength to strength, including upgrading its bedrooms and suites and offering a new menu of modern seasonal cuisine in its Pavilion restaurant, bars and terraces.

Its position within 35 acres of manicured gardens and parkland promotes wellness and wellbeing, with its award-winning health club and spa voted the best in the Channel Islands by the Good Spa Guide year after year. The club, open to members, has five treatment rooms, a spectacular 16.5m indoor swimming pool, an outdoor hot tub, a marble steam room, dual aspect volcanic stone sauna, hot and cold rainfall and monsoon ‘experience’ showers, and a relaxation room.
