Pride of Guernsey: Liz Douglas

LIZ DOUGLAS has been nominated for the A7 Design-sponsored Parish Champion of the Year award for her dedication to the parish of St Saviour’s.

She has been described as a hard worker with a smile who will do anything for the parish of which she is so proud.
Her nominator, Angela De Garis, has been impressed by Mrs Douglas’ commitment to helping the parish.
‘Liz has worked for many years as a representative for Floral Guernsey, becoming team leader and also as a member of the douzaine for a short while,’ she said.
‘She was a keen supporter of keeping St Saviour’s school for a community centre and heads the small team looking after the flower displays there.
‘She has helped decorate the parish church for festivals for over 20 years and took on the responsibility of reorganising the small garden at St Appoline.
‘There just aren’t that many young people working this hard for their parish.’
