Shaun Winterflood was nominated for the Alexander Daniels-sponsored Customer Service of the Year Award by Alison Torode for the work he does at SWATS.
‘Shaun is dedicated to helping young folk develop using theatre and music.
‘[SWATS] are all-inclusive and have children of varying ages and abilities, some with physical or learning difficulties,’ said Mrs Torode.
‘Shaun is a bubbly character, loved by the children and he goes the extra mile to support attendees and their families. His positivity is infectious.’
Mrs Torode was particularly grateful for Shaun’s help with her autistic son who has ‘started to become a confident individual who is learning to express himself in a positive way’.
It was Shaun who inspired her son to perform a duet in a hall full of parents and children.
‘Shaun truly cares about the children who attend and goes the extra mile or two to help them, giving up a great deal of his personal time to do so.’
