Writing to nominate her for The Channel Islands Co-operative Society-sponsored Grandparent/s of the Year award, Stevie Edmonds said Mrs White Regan had made her the person she was today.
‘I lived with her for most of my life and she raised me as if I was one of her own children,’ she said.
‘Not only is she important to me, but she has a place in so many other people’s hearts.
‘This wonderful lady is an incredible artist and author and has so many fascinating stories about living through the war, performing as a singer and dancer at the No. 1 Lyric Company and working as a nurse. I never get bored of hearing her tales.
‘I believe my gran deserves this award because she is the most lovable person you could meet and whether you are happy or sad, she will always find a way to brighten your day.
‘I love her very much and she will always be a winner in my eyes.’
