Pride of Guernsey: Kieren Trebert

A YOUNG man who was nervous and shy when he joined the GSPCA has become an integral member of the team through his hard work and dedication.

Kieren Trebert has been nominated for the Young Achiever of the Year award, sponsored by Butterfield, by centre manager Steve Byrne.
‘This time last year Kieren joined the team at the GSPCA as a young volunteer doing one morning a week,’ he said.
‘He was very nervous and shy, along with a number of challenges when he first arrived.
‘He has developed over the last year and grown week by week and now often does two to three mornings a week, with a set routine helping to care for and cleaning out a number of the sections with a variety of animal species here at the shelter, assisting the hospital staff.
‘Kieren is hard-working and dedicated and it has been wonderful to see him flourish and assist the team, who all speak highly of him.
‘Each morning he is in you will see him cleaning out the Welcome Aviary at the front of the GSPCA.
‘He has achieved a huge amount and learnt a lot caring for the species here at the GSPCA. Kieren is certainly our young achiever of the year and we would love to nominate him for this award.’
